Shaun M. Snyder. Esq.

Interim Senior Deputy Director

Shaun M. Snyder, Esq. is the Interim Senior Deputy Director of the Addiction Prevention and Recovery Administration (APRA) within the District of Columbia Department of Health.  APRA is the Single State Authority for substance abuse services in the District of Columbia.  In this role, Mr. Snyder is responsible for overseeing a continuum of substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery support services as well as regulating substance abuse service providers.

Prior to serving as Interim Senior Deputy Director, Mr. Snyder served as Deputy Director for Administration within APRA.  In that capacity he oversaw the agency’s regulatory offices, prevention services, performance management, training, human resources, and risk management issues.

Prior to joining the Department of Health, Mr. Snyder served as Special Assistant to the General Counsel at the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.  He also served as Legislative Counsel at the Council of the District of Columbia.

Mr. Snyder received a bachelor of arts from the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park and a juris doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC.  Mr. Snyder is licensed to practice law in state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
