Brentwood Arts Exchange - Are You America’s Next Top Master Artist?
GRAND FINALE WINNER receives $500 and a solo exhibition at the Brentwood Arts Exchange
DEADLINE TO APPLY: March 14, 2014
PROJECT AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MASTER ARTIST
Many of us in the high-brow refinement of the art world share a dark secret - one we don't say out loud in the wrong company – that we too watch reality TV. Well, not all of it... But, shows like American Idol, Top Chef, Project Runway, and Dancing with the Stars each week bring creativity and an albeit edited, but still actual, critical review and debate to our TV screens. So, this spring, the Brentwood Arts Exchange is bringing "Reality" to the gallery.
Kicking off on the Gateway Arts District Spring 2014 Open Studios Day, Project America's Next Top Master Artist is an elimination-style exhibition presented in three rounds. Our esteemed panel of judges will review applications and select artists to exhibit in the first round. After that, it’s up to the audience, who will vote onsite and online to determine which artists will stay and which will go home. As they say on TV, "One day you're in, the next day you're out." Each artist who remains will bring new artworks to display and face the votes once again. The exhibition culminates in a grand finale celebration on July 19, 2014, crowning America's Next Top Master Artist and awarding the winner a $500 cash prize and a solo exhibition at the Brentwood Arts Exchange during the 2014-2015 season.
This call is open to all artists and curators who are 18 years of age or older who live within 150 miles of Brentwood, MD. There are no restrictions on media or residency.
