Free Cribs

DC residents can get free cribs for their infants to ensure infants are sleeping safely. Putting a baby to sleep face up in a crib reduces the chance of death caused by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), suffocation and roll over deaths related to the infant sharing a bed with parents or other children.
The free cribs are provided through DOH’s Safe Cribs Program that provides:
- FREE Safety Approved Pack ‘n Plays
- Parent/Caregiver Education
- Education for Community Partners that serve as Crib Distributors
- Counseling
- Referrals
Parents and/or caregivers must participate in short educational sessions on safe sleep in order to receive their free Pack ‘n Plays.
