Mission

The mission of the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Administration is four-fold:

  1. Ensure the delivery of the highest quality emergency medical and trauma care services through the provision of regulatory oversight of all emergency medical services provided in the District.
  2. Plan, implement and direct public health emergency preparedness and response for the District.
  3. Conduct disease surveillance and investigate disease outbreaks in order to minimize the spread of disease.
  4. Provide laboratory services in support of public health programs and to detect bioterrorist agents.

Divisions
