Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed)

EAT SMART/MOVE MORE provides adult and youth programs to increase food security, encourage Food Stamp participation, and promote health and disease prevention among low-income DC residents. EAT SMART/MOVE MORE programs are interactive, educational and include topics such as:

  • Self-sufficiency
  • Food Budgeting
  • Managing Resources
  • Food Preparation Skills
  • Cooking Demonstrations
  • Food Safety and Sanitation
  • Making Healthy Food Choices
  • Encourage Physical Activity

Services and Classes

Our services include interactive workshops, cooking demonstrations, information booths at health fairs and farmers’ markets, Food Stamp Program promotion, nutrition classes and much more.


EAT SMART/MOVE MORE forms partnerships with DC organizations to promote food security, good health, nutrition, and physical activity to low income individuals and families.

Our DC partners include Faith-Based Organizations, DC Public Schools, Head Start Programs, Day Care Centers, Hospitals, Senior Centers, Food Stamp Agencies, Non-Profit Agencies, and many other Community Organizations.
